About the Coalition Against Disinformation

Formed in March 2023, the Coalition Against Disinformation (CAD) is a multi-stakeholder alliance of media, academia and civil society to jointly push back against online misinformation and disinformation.

The members of CAD include representatives of the mass communication and journalism departments of 13 national universities, the Digital Media Alliance of Pakistan, the Women Journalists Association, media development groups, and civil society organisations.

The Coalition assists with research, production of learning resources, capacity-building training and public advocacy to foster an environment where the spread of disinformation is discouraged and the freedom of expression is strengthened.
